In guillotine door-mounted elevators; there is no need for well (pit). Guillotine doors are usually installed at the bench or waist level higher than 80 cm or 90 cm.

In manual doors for monte-charge elevators; a well (pit) is needed. Manual doors are mounted at 15 cm higher than ground level.
